Have you missed my food photos and daily eating updates?!

Well your in luck!
I'm going to try the 21-Day Sugar Detox (again) on November 1st!
The first time I tried this I wasn't committed...I wasn't ready for a "no list" of foods that I currently enjoy on Paleo. But NOW I am ready. I AM going to do it! After all, it's only 21 days, right!?!
The biggest difference I have found with this program, compared to the Whole30 program that got me started on Paleo, is that the 21-day Sugar Detox limits your fruit intake, and your dense carbs. So I have to be careful on my fruit, and focus more on veggies and lean meats.
With my exercise program, I will get to add in a dense carb, such as pumpkin, or another member of the squash family.
I have a few reasons why NOW I am ready to do this.
One being, it's a SUGAR filled holiday season for the next 3 months -Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas, and even my 32nd birthday! So I need something to keep me on a healthy track. I want to enjoy these holidays, but not for the entire month their in!
Second, I need to find balance and moderation in all things. I fill like I need more control over my sugar cravings.
Third, my hormones are totally off! This part may be TMI, but my period has been sooo off for the last year. I think it has mostly to do with my running program...but I'm hoping that I can get back to a regular cycle by cutting out sugar and processed foods. It will be very interesting to see if the 21-day sugar detox can help with balancing my hormones!

So get ready for lots of pics and my daily ups and downs on trying to be the healthiest Me I can be!
If you wanna join me, I'd love the company!

Tomorrow is a Special Day!

Hey Friends,
So I've been so busy! I've been vacationing all summer- I went to the Dominican Republic, then to Utah, and then to a huge Scentsy convention in Las Vegas!
My hubby and I in the DR.
Once I got back to "The Pit", I had a lot of fun work to do with launching new things from Scentsy (Grace Adele, Velata, Layers, a new Fall/Winter Scentsy catalog, etc), and now my kids are back to school! I even put my youngest Jack Jack, into a preschool just down the road from us. He begged and pleaded to get to go to school too...so I made it happen! He will have much more fun playing with friends than he'd have home with me while I work aka "love on my Mac", and "talk to my Phone"!
So I'm up for another challenge! It's time for me to start kicking my own trash in eating great, and exercising to my potential. Vacation is over, and it's time to get back to where I feel and perform my best!
My baby Jack Jack is too adorable!
So I'm jumping head first into a 21-Day Sugar Detox! All my Paleo and Crossfit internet friends (my real life friends all like to eat cake in front of me and describe how good it is) have been talking all about this program and how great they've felt afterwards. Since I'm a self prescribed Sugar Addict and Compulsive Sugar Eater, I feel like this may be a good challenge for me!
I'm also joining a 6-week Crossfit boot camp at a local Crossfit gym. I'm scared out of my mind for this! I'm sure I'm going to puke or faint or something super embarrassing is going to take place. UGH! But I know how amazing I will feel afterwards, and how amazing my body will soon start transforming to- it's going to be awesome!
I hope you'll all follow me along as I post each day about my daily ups and downs with the 21-day detox and my "official" jump into Crossfit.

New Business Opportunities!

As you may know my story, I took a huge leap of faith five years ago- I joined a Direct Sales candle company called Scentsy. Joining a direct sales company was totally against my nature. I soon saw how easy this was and how well the products sold themselves! My business grew into more than I could have ever imagined- but exactly what I wanted and needed!
Now Scentsy is growing, more brands and opportunity than ever before.
A few months ago we launched Velata, a fun chocolate Fondue, and just this week we launched Grace Adele- simple and smart fashion, including handbags, clutches, jewelry and accessories!
The Scentsy family is always looking ahead, finding ways that we all can grow our businesses an making it possible for us to live our dreams!
Which brand suits you? Is there one or more brands that you'd like to be a part of?
I'd be happy to send you more info or answer any questions you may have!

Paleo- How I got started, and YOU can too!

I have only been doing Paleo for over 30 days now, but I feel like it's changing everything about the way I eat, see and feel about food. I LOVE food...believe me, I could eat food all day long, and especially if the food is coated in sugar..so going Paleo was going out on a huge limb for me, but I did it and I couldn't be happier!
So how did I get started, and how can YOU?
First of all, if he isn't already, make GOOGLE your new BFF. If I ever have a question, or need a new idea, I google it. I found the Whole9 website, and thought a good place to start would be the Whole30 Challenge. This was really going to help me get started and see if Paleo was for me. I totally recommend you doing this!
Second, read all you can about the Paleo Lifestyle. There are books out there, but honestly, you can find everything online that you need to get started and to stay Paleo. Reading and researching this will help you to know if this is something that you want to try, and that may work for you. I can't say if it will work for you, or if you'll love it or hate it, you have to decide for yourself.
I have links to the right that show you the Paleo sites I frequent. Check those out and see what you can find for yourself there.
Third- Be accountable. I used this blog as well as Instagram to make sure I stayed on track. I love cooking and trying new things, so that part of Paleo was really fun and exciting for me. I loved taking pictures of everything I ate, and along doing this, I found other people just like me, doing just the same thing- sharing real food with others!
Finally, do what is best for YOU. I've only tried a few "diets" in my life, and for those that I've tried, they did not work for my lifestyle. So maybe Paleo will be for you, maybe not, there is really only one way to find out!

Please leave a comment if you have any specific questions on what I did.

Good Luck!

Paleo-Whole 30 complete!

Yesterday was Day 30 and so this morning I weighed myself!!!
I was nervous but so excited to see what the number was. I knew it didn't matter, really, what's a number, right?!? My clothes all feel lose, I'm eating amazing food that is the healthiest, best, highest quality food I can eat, and I'm learning a whole new way of life- and I love it! But most people, especially women, feel that what that number on the scale says is so important...so I had to know my number..... Drum roll please....119!!!
I have been to this number before, for about 2 seconds before I'd go and pig out on all the junk food and things I've been craving for the last few months of me dieting. But this time I knew this number was so much more! This number represented a lot of hard work at the gym as well as eating foods that are true to me and my body. In the last 30 days, I never felt deprived, I never felt cheated and never felt like I couldn't eat something even though I was hungry. I had almost no stress while on this 30 day challenge. Most diets I have found are very stressful. You have to count things, and add up silly numbers. I hate counting calories...so lame right? As if we all really can measure exact numbers of an apple or strawberry...I've seen apples the size of my head- that for sure has more calories than a baby green apple...frustrating to say the least! So releaved I don't worry about numbers with Paleo.
I'm thrilled, beyond happy with my results! It would be cool to know what my "inside" numbers are. I want to look into getting a body analysis done. I'll need to go into a big city to have this complete. Anyone done a body fat analysis? What do you think?
My body feels amazing and in better health than ever before!
So now I've just finished day 31 and will continue counting my days on Paleo!

Who's on Paleo with me?!?!
